CASA Training for New Volunteers

Family Advocates will be holding training sessions for new CASA volunteers throughout the year.

This is a great opportunity for new GAL's to get all of the initial core training done in a two week period! All CASA trainings are free and open to the public. Please RSVP for these trainings and view our training page for further details. (RSVP to information@familyadvocate.org or 345-3344)

Becoming a Love & Logic Parent

Family Advocates will be holding a seven week series of classes using the Love & Logic curriculum. This is a common sense approach to parenting that will give parents practical ideas about setting limits and teaching kids to make responsible choices. With Love & Logic, children learn how to live with the consequences of their actions, avoid blaming others for their problems, and how to make wise decisions. Jim Fay and Foster Cline, authors of Love & Logic, believe -- "Love allows children to grow through their mistakes and Logic happens when we allow them to live with the consequences of thier choices."

Our next session of Love & Logic will begin Tuesday March 17, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The class will run through Tuesday April 14th. Cost is $25 (includes class workbook) and scholarships are available to those who qualify. To register for this class, email Michelle Fleming for more information.
